President of Genesis Seeds, Dr. Nir has more than 45 years of experience in all aspects of the horticulture industries. These include: Research, Plant & Seed propagation, production, marketing and market evaluation. Was graduated at the Faculty of Agricultural of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and received his PhD. in horticulture in 1977 from the same institution. He obtained practical experience in all aspects of horticulture in the United States, Holland and Japan. Dr. Nir is the inventor of the ’Aeropoponic Growing & Propagation System’ and has developed many horticultural projects in Israel and world wide. He has served as a consultant for the World Bank and as a Horticulture Professor at the Faculty of Agricultural of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Mr. Nir joined the company in 1996 after a complementary study in Holland and Germany on all aspects of seed production and processing. Mr. Nir is a world expert in a large assortment of seed production, processing, post harvest, quality control, storage, shipment and international quality standards for the seed trade. He holds an academic degree in ’art sciences’ from Camara-Obscura, Tel-Aviv, Israel.

Mr. Shemin’s career in horticulture spans over 50 years.

A graduate in Plant Science from Syracuse University

The founder of Shemin Nurseries (1955), Mr. Shemin pioneered Horticultural Distribution, the first one-stop wholesale distribution in the horticulture industry. Shemin Nurseries was purchased by Weyerhaeuser Company in 1986.

Mr. Shemin has been actively connected with the State of Israel since 1976, focusing on agricultural education and the plant propagation industry.
